Beaked Hazelnut
Winterberry

Beaked Hazelnut is a multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub native to North America.

It features smooth, grey bark and edible nuts. Beaked Hazelnut prefers a rich sandy-clay loam but will grow on poorer sites, and can be used as an understory shrub.

Winterberry is a small shrub that produces large quantities of bright red berries that remain on the plant through the fall and into the winter. Adding this shrub to your yard will give it a unique splash of color and attract birds, especially after the leaves drop.

Note: although the foliage is attractive on its own, you need at least one male plant near your female plants or they won't produce berries. Our Winterberry seedlings are not sorted by gender so you should buy at least 5 of them to increase your odds of getting at least one male.
