Strawberry Sensation Haskap (Honeyberry)

Thimbleberry is an ornamental shrub with large, green maple-like-leaves. Flowers are attractive, fragrant, and turn into red-raspberry-like berries. The berries are good for jams, cakes, breads, muffins etc. If you remove the berry, the core resembles a thimble, giving this shrub its namesake.

Strawberry Sensation Haskap is a new cultivar from Berries Unlimited that is getting lots of attention. These haskaps have a unique flavor that range from sweet to tart with an alpine strawberry after taste. This highly productive shrub produces haskaps late season and are ideal for freezing or fresh eating.

Strawberry Sensation is an late pollinating variety. Pair with other late pollinators to have a higher yield.
Boreal Blizzard is a great companion variety.
