Prairie Sky Poplar vs Ironwood Tree

Prairie Sky Poplar is a fast-growing columnar hybrid poplar developed at Agriculture and Agri-food Canada's Morden Research Station. It is adaptable to many soil conditions and seems to do best in the southern-most parts of the prairies.

Good as a shade or shelterbelt tree, it is often used in buffer zones as a visual screen or hedge. Ideal for lining properties, roads, etc.

Ironwood Tree is one of the strongest and most resilient trees you will find in North America. In fact, it has the hardest and most dense wood of any North American tree. Prized for its oval shaped canopy and showy winter trunk, this striking shade tree will make a beautiful addition to any yard. Make sure you do not plant near roads as it is highly salt sensitive.
