Manchurian Apricot
V3 Apple Rootstock

Manchurian Apricot is a winter-hardy relative of the native plum. This tree can stand some drought, but will not handle standing water or saturated moist soils. It can be used in shelterbelts, hedges, or as an ornamental. Manchurian Apricot will also attract songbirds, rabbits, and other rodents if left uncontrolled.

This tree will produce fruit once it reaches maturity at between two and five years old. Other famous cultivars of Manchurian Apricot include Scout Apricot, Moongold, and many more.

The V3 or Vineland 3 Apple is a favorite of many farmers. This plant is an excellent dwarfing rootstock for grafting other apple species to. It is cold hardy and resistant to fire blight. This tree performs best with staking and regular watering.

This tree produces gorgeous white and pink blossoms in the spring. It is not typically grown for its fruit but can produce small red apples.

Expect an easy-to-pick height of 6 feet and a more efficient yield per square foot of space compared to standard rootstocks. Not recommended for planting in pots. Also known for its disease resistance.

There are anecdotal reports of dwarfing rootstock producing larger fruit and more fruit given the volume of the tree.
