Travellers Joy Clematis vs Eastern Redbud

Traveller's Joy Clematis is a species of flowering plant that is native to North America. This plant produces vines which are quite aggressive and can climb to heights of 10-20 feet. Traveller's Joy produces white flowers between July and September and typically grows on the edge of forests, moist slopes, fence rows and on streambanks.

The Eastern Redbud is known for the pea-like pink buds that emerge in clusters on the bark, embellishing the tree in stunning flowers. They have a longer bloom time, sometimes for two to three weeks before the heart-shaped leaves emerge for the summer. Inedible pods emerge that turn brown in the summer, this tree is a part of the bean family.
