Jahns Prairie Gooseberry
Boreal Beauty Haskap (Honeyberry)

Jahns Prairie Gooseberry produces large, delicious red fruit.

Found in the Red Deer River valley by Dr. Otto Jahn in 1984. This cultivar was found to resist insects and disease, tolerate frost, and produce high quality fruit.

Boreal Beauty produces large berries that are well suited to mechanical harvesting. It also has strong branches to hold up heavy berries.

Haskaps have a taste that is a cross between raspberry and blueberry. The berries can be used for eating fresh, baking, jams and jellies, freezing. Haskaps are high in vitamins, fibre, and anti-oxidants.

This variety is an excellent choice for U-picks and commercial harvester type orchards.

Boreal Beauty is an late pollinating variety. Pair with other late pollinators to have a higher yield. Boreal Beauty Haskap is a great companion variety for the Boreal Beast Haskap.
