Hill Poplar
Tulip Poplar

Hill Poplar is a hardy, fast-growing tree with a narrow crown. Hill Poplars function well as a privacy screen or windbreak.

This attractive, long-lived shade tree is a great choice for home and commercial consumers alike, as it requires little pruning or maintenance care.

Hill Poplar has largely been replaced by more desirable hybrid poplar varieties that are more resistant to disease.

Tulip Poplar is the perfect shade tree for wide open spaces. It has a shallow and extensive root system, so ensure you give it space to grow. The attractive and showy, yellow-orange, tulip shaped flowers are where this tree gets its name.

Tulip Poplar is somewhat rare in Canada but highly sought after as it is difficult to grow. Does best in a moist, well-drained soil.
