Premium vs. standard stock types: which should I buy?
show all tree selection questionsWe sometimes divide our trees into different "grades" as we harvest them. Most often we do this by height. This allows us to offer you fairly uniform trees, even if there was lots of variation in height when the trees were growning.
Premium trees are usually taller and/or have better branching than our standard grade trees of the same age.
How to choose:
- Premium - buying premium grade trees gives you the maximum advantage in establishing healthy, mature trees the fastest. Premium grade trees are a good choice for you if you are landscaping a urban area in a hurry
- Standard - you'll probably want standard grade trees if you're buying a lot of trees or if you don't care how tall your tree is in the first year or two
Note: all grades of trees we sell are hardy and healthy.
