Quebec Poplar vs Prairie Skyrise Aspen

A hybrid of Simon's Poplar and Balsam Poplar, Quebec Poplar is a fast-growing deciduous tree. This particular selection was one of the finalists for the Quebec Ministry of Forest's Hybrid Poplar breeding program.

It is useful for quickly establishing a privacy screen or as part of a shelterbelt, and prefers moist soil. Disease resistance is likely high as is cold hardiness.

Prairie Skyrise Aspen has a compact and columnar branching structure that makes it a great privacy screen for small yards. You'll notice that the old and new growth have contrasting colors of green, giving this tree an attractive and unique appearance.

Prairie Skyrise Aspen is more disease resistant, columnar, and typically leafs out earlier than Swedish Aspen.
