| Haskap for saleHaskapLonicera caerulea NOW AVAILABLE!
Haskap, also known as Honeyberry or Blue Honeysuckle, is growing in popularity as a commercial fruit on the prairies. Native to Siberia and northeast Asia, Haskap has been undergoing development by Dr. Bob Bors at the University of Saskatchewan Fruit Program.
Haskap is an excellent choice for the northern prairies due to its extreme cold hardiness and very early fruit development. The fruit is blue in color and elongate in shape. The flavour of haskap berries is described as a cross between blueberry and raspberry.
Haskap bushes mature quickly and may produce fruit in the first year after planting. They will generally reach full production (5-10 kg of fruit) in the 3rd to 5th year. Haskap varieties self-pollinate poorly, and it is therefore recommended that multiple varieties be planted. "Berry Blue" is the most commonly used pollinator variety, and is usually planted at a ratio of 1:8 to 1:10. | AVAILABLE STOCK Indigo Treat Haskap (SK 9-91)Another of the U of S Fruit Programs newer releases. Indigo Treat has fruit similar in size and firmness to their Tundra variety, making it suitable for commercial production.
These container seedlings are grown from tissue culture.

Tundra Haskap - 1 Year OIdTundra is the best Haskap for commercial production. It's flesh is firm, and does not bleed from the stem when picked, while still retaining a flavour nearly as good as Borealis.
Borealis and Tundra Haskap do not self-pollinate well. It is recommended that another variety, such as Honeybee or Berry Blue Honeyberry be planted at a minimum 1:8 ratio.
These container seedlings are grown from tissue culture.

Honeybee Haskap - 1 Year OldA new Pollinator from the University of Saskatchewan! Honeybee blooms at the same time as Borealis, Tundra and Indigo, making it ideal for pollination of those cultivars. The bush is 50% larger, so you need fewer pollinators (1:8 ratio). And honeybee produces decent fruit itself, just a little tarter than Borealis.
Stock Type: Tissue Culture (2.5" minipot)
Age: 1 year (1+0)

Berry BlueTM Honeyberry - 1 Year OldBerry Blue is an older cultivar originally developed in the Czech Republic. It is vigorous and produces many flowers, making it the preferred pollinator variety for the University of Saskatchewan 'Borealis' and 'Tundra' varieties. However, it's fruit is generally smaller than more recent cultivars, better suited to jams than fresh eating.
It is generally recommended to plant 1 pollinator such as Berry Blue for every 8-10 Haskap bushes.
