Red Currant
Red CurrantRibes rubrum OUT OF STOCK (new stock expected: Jan 2014) Red Currant is a deciduous shrub native to western Europe. It is a member of the gooseberry family, and is related to the wild currants and gooseberries of North America. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall, with five-lobed, somewhat maple-like leaves and bright red berries. The berries are more sour than black currant, but can be eaten raw, and are excellent for jams and sauces. |
