GeneralQ: How does this all work? | A: | We ship your seedlings in a frozen state from our cold storage warehouse.
When you purchase your seedlings, you get to choose from one of our many shipping dates starting in the middle of April and ending in the middle of June.
Our online store opens near the end of January and closes in early June. You can place your order directly in our online ordering system or browse our site and place your order by phone.
We accept requests for orders at any time of the year. Because we sell our seedlings on a first-come, first-served basis, it is to your advantage to request your seedlings for next season as early as possible.
If you place a seedling request with us, we will contact you in January to give you the opportunity to purchase your seedlings and secure your inventory before we open sales to the general public on our website.
No matter how and when you place your order, we will ship it to you on the shipping date you choose between April and June.
Here are some reasons you might want to shop with us:
|
Q: I have a question. Is there someone I can talk to? | A: | We are waiting by our phones from 8:00-4:30 (mountain time) Monday through Friday.
Call 1-866-873-3846 to talk to a real, live person.
Our contact page has more details. |
Q: Do you Guarantee your Products? | A: | At TreeTime.ca we stand behind our products and are proud to guarantee our seedlings are in good health on arrival and will put on new growth after being planted. If you receive any seedlings you believe are not healthy on arrival please contact us within 7 days.
If your seedlings fail to put on growth within six weeks of being planted please contact us. Seedlings that do not perform as guaranteed will be replaced or store credit issued. |
Q: Can I look at the trees before I place my order? | A: | While we would like to show off our impressive seedlings, it is not practical to have customers visiting our warehouse.
To help you understand exactly what you are buying we do our best to honestly describe the size, age, and condition of each species we sell on our website.
We'd also be happy to answer your questions by phone. |
Q: Where do your seedlings come from? Q: Where is TreeTime.ca located? | A: | We are located in Edmonton, Alberta. See our contact page for more details.

|
Q: How does the deposit program work? | A: | We require full payment at the time the order is placed for all orders less than $1000.00 to secure your inventory.
For orders totalling $1000.00 or more, we require a minimum 30% deposit to secure your inventory and the balance is due 2 weeks before your shipping date. |
Q: What is your return policy? | A: | Due to the perishable nature of tree seedlings, payment is required before shipment. Once shipped, seedlings cannot be returned. Amendments or cancellations of orders must be completed within 48 hours of the order being secured. Cancellations made within 48 hours will be credited in full. Cancellations made after 48 hours will be charged a 30% restocking fee. |
ShippingQ: Is it safe to ship live seedlings in the mail? | A: | Yes.
We restrict our normal shipping to the four western provinces to ensure shipping times do not exceed your seedlings' ability to survive the trip.
When we ship outside the four western provinces we choose a guaranteed delivery service to ensure your trees arrive safely. |
Q: How do I get Free Shipping? | A: | TreeTime.ca offers free shipping on all orders over $100 to the western Canadian provinces (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba).
Orders under $100 are subject to a $12.00 shipping fee.
|
Q: I live outside BC, AB, SK, and MB, can I still place an order? | A: | We can ship seedlings throughout Canada. To guarantee the health of seedlings shipped elsewhere in Canada, special shipping arrangements must be made, at additional cost.
Please shop normally and select the 'pay by phone' method of payment during the checkout process. You will be asked to call us for a quote on the shipping price. If you are satified with the cost of the shipping, we can complete your order immediately.
We have successfully shipped trees to Ontario, Nova Scotia, Quebec, the Yukon, and the NWT. |
Q: How will my order be shipped? | A: | Unless specified otherwise, orders are shipped out through Canada Post as Expedited Parcels and should be received in 1-3 days. You will receive notification that your parcel has arrived in your normal mail but you will need to pick the package up at your local post office.
Within the Edmonton region, seedlings may be shipped direct to your door by courier.
For large or special orders, or at the customer's request, other shipping arrangements may be made. Shipping options include:
- UPS
- DHL
- Greyhound
- Regional freight carriers
Please note that additional charges may apply to special shipping arrangements. |
Q: I haven't received my order. What should I do? | A: | If you have not received your seedlings by noon on the Thursday after your shipping date please call 1-866-873-3846 and inform us of the problem. |
PlantingQ: How should I prepare my trees for planting? | A: | Seedlings leave our warehouse frozen to protect them during shipping.
Please ensure that the roots have thawed completely before planting. We recommend thawing your plants in a cool, shaded area such as a garage or barn. Keep them wrapped in plastic and out of direct sunlight so they don't dehydrate.
Please note that it might take several days for your trees to thaw completely.
|
Q: Can I use your trees for reclamation on public land? | A: | We run a reclamation division which deals specifically with these issues and we would be pleased to help you select the correct stock for your project. Please call us at 1-866-873-3846 for assistance.
Reclamation of public land is governed by a strict set of regulations. In Alberta these regulations require that the seed used to grow the reclamation stock must come from the seed zone into which the seedling will be planted. While we do keep track of the seed zones from which our stock originates, it is unlikely that our commercial species stock (spruce and pine) will match the seed zone you are planting into due to the sheer number of seed zones in Alberta.
Non-commercial species are not regulated and can be purchased on our website and planted on public land. |
