Red Currant vs Double Delight Raspberry

Ribes rubrum

Rubus x Double Delight

Red Currant
Double Delight Raspberry

Red Currant is a short deciduous shrub native to western Europe. It features five-lobed, maple-like leaves and bright red berries.

Red Currant berries are more sour than black currant, but they can be eaten raw and are excellent for jams and sauces. This member of the gooseberry family is related to the wild currants and gooseberries of North America.

Double Delight is a primocane cultivar, able to produce berries on new growth and significantly increase the size of your harvest. Since this variety is fast growing, the difference can rapidly add up!

Double Delight raspberries have an excellent sweet-sour flavour. They freeze well and are suitable for use in jams, juices, and pies.
