What size trees should I buy?

We specialize in selling 1 to 3 year old seedlings. Your goals and budget will determine the best age of seedling for your particular project.

1 year old seedlings:

  • Cheaper - younger trees are cheaper making them a more economical choice when you are purchasing a large quantity of trees
  • Easier and faster to plant - being smaller and easier to handle, they can also be planted faster. If you're interested in starting a shelterbelt or a tree farm, younger trees are best suited for you

2 year+ seedlings:

  • Larger - you'll want to purchase older seedlings when fast establishment is important to you
  • Advanced development - in situations where competition might be a factor, we recommend planting older stock as it is far more likely to succeed
